Wellrain Textile (Vietnam) Company Limited inaugurated its greige and dyed fabric manufacturing plant at Hải Hà Industrial Park in Quảng Ninh City's Quảng Hà Commune with total investment of VNĐ381 billion (approximately US$15 million) on Tuesday.

Covering approximately 25,638sq.m, the project features standard production facilities and supporting infrastructure. The plant specialises in woven fabric production and textile finishing, with dyed fabric as its main product. It has a designed capacity of about 42 million square meters of fabric, or 8,400 tonnes of dyed fabric, per year.

The project received its initial investment registration certificate from the Quảng Ninh Economic Zone Management Board on June 3 last year, with its second adjustment approved on May 6.

Coming into operation after more than a year of implementation, the plant is expected to contribute to the development of the textile and garment supply chain at Hải Hà Industrial Park, while enabling the company to expand production linkages and markets in Quảng Ninh City.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Trương Mạnh Hùng, standing deputy head of the Quảng Ninh Economic Zone Management Board, commended the investor for proactively working with relevant authorities to complete legal procedures.

He noted that Quảng Ninh’s GRDP grew 12.54 per cent in the first nine months of this year, the highest rate nationwide, with processing and manufacturing continuing to serve as a key growth driver.

The project is expected to contribute to the province’s this year target of 26.3 per cent growth in processing and manufacturing, while raising the sector’s share of GRDP to more than 14 per cent.

Hùng called on relevant agencies and local authorities to continue supporting the company in maintaining stable operations and expanding its scale. He also urged Wellrain Textile (Vietnam) to strictly comply with regulations on production safety and environmental protection, invest in workforce training, and strengthen its competitiveness in the market.
