German connection technology provider LAPP opens Vietnam office

 LAPP Group, a leading supplier of cable and connection technology based in Germany, today announced the opening of a LAPP Vietnam.

Following its buyout of its former partner in JJ-LAPP, a 50:50 joint venture founded in 2004 with Jebsen & Jessen Group, in 2025, LAPP Vietnam continues to deliver connectivity solutions across Southeast Asia.

The company benefits from JJ-LAPP's local market knowledge across Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Việt Nam, and Indonesia.

Richard Lee, the company's Chairman and CEO for the Asia Pacific, said: "Việt Nam has become one of the region's most dynamic economies. Its rapid industrialisation, growing manufacturing capabilities, and investment in high-value industries make it one of the most exciting growth markets in Asia Pacific.

“With this acquisition, we reinforce our commitment to the region and strengthen our support for Vietnamese businesses with direct access to LAPP's global supply chain and engineering expertise."

LAPP sees the Asia-Pacific as its fastest-growing region with strong double-digit growth in fiscal 2025.

To drive this growth, the company will use Indonesia as a core regional manufacturing hub to shorten lead times and Việt Nam as a key commercial hub.

Việt Nam is expected to play a crucial role in supporting customers across industries, such as intralogistics, industrial automation, electronics, renewable energy, semiconductors, data centres, smart infrastructure, and food and beverage.

German Deputy Consul General in HCM City Philip Marsden said: "The establishment of LAPP Vietnam is a long-term commitment and a strong vote of confidence in the future of Vietnam. When a company like LAPP decides to invest and expand its presence here, it shows that the economic dynamism and potential of Việt Nam are recognised and valued."

LAPP Group was founded in 1959 in Stuttgart. In 2025, it generated consolidated sales of 1.93 billion euros (about US$2.227 billion). The company manufactures at 27 locations globally and is active in over 80 countries.
