Accor, Sun Group expand partnership with major hospitality projects across Việt Nam

Accor and Sun Group have expanded their strategic partnership with a new portfolio agreement to add more than 5,300 keys in Việt Nam over the next five years.

Global hospitality group Accor and Vietnamese real estate and tourism developer Sun Group have expanded their strategic partnership with a new portfolio agreement to develop more than 5,300 hotel rooms and residences across Việt Nam over the next five years.

The new projects will be located in key tourism destinations, including Phú Quốc and Đà Nẵng, covering hotels, resorts and serviced residences.

The agreement will bring several Accor brands to Việt Nam for the first time, including Sofitel Serviced Residences, Swissôtel Living, TRIBE and Ennismore’s lifestyle brand SO/. It will also expand the presence of existing brands such as MGallery, Grand Mercure and ibis Styles.

The deal marks a new phase in the partnership between the two companies as they seek to strengthen Việt Nam’s tourism offerings through internationally recognised hospitality brands and destination-focused developments.

Sébastien Bazin, chairman and chief executive officer of Accor, said Việt Nam had become one of Asia’s most dynamic destinations, adding that the agreement reflected the group’s confidence in the long-term growth of the country’s tourism sector.

“We remain focused on expanding our network in destinations that offer travellers more meaningful ways to connect with the culture and natural beauty of the country,” he said.

The developments would bring a wider range of brands and experiences to the market, creating new opportunities for tourism and supporting Việt Nam’s growth as a global destination, he added.

Đặng Minh Trường, chairman of Sun Group, said the partnership would help introduce Accor’s diverse hospitality ecosystem and new experiences to Việt Nam.

“This will not only raise hospitality standards but also enhance the attractiveness and competitiveness of our destinations, generate economic opportunities and contribute to the sustainable growth of Việt Nam’s tourism industry,” Trường said.

The first phase of the portfolio will include six properties: Ba Na Hills Hotel Danang – MGallery Collection, Ruby Beach Hotel – MGallery Collection, SO/ Phu Quoc Ruby Beach, Grand Mercure Phu Quoc Ruby Beach, TRIBE Hon Thom Phu Quoc and ibis Styles Hon Thom Phu Quoc.

The expansion comes as Việt Nam’s hospitality sector continues to recover strongly, driven by rising domestic travel demand, growing international arrivals and increasing interest in leisure destinations.

With 45 hotels currently operating in Việt Nam, the country is Accor’s third-largest market in Asia, excluding India and Greater China. The new portfolio is expected to further strengthen the group’s presence across different market segments.
