HD Hyundai completes share purchase agreement with Doosan Enerbility

HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, the shipbuilding holding company under HD Hyundai, has completed all transaction procedures with Doosan Enerbility and finalised the acquisition of HD Hyundai Eco Vina.

A source from the company confirmed that HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering had signed a share purchase agreement with Doosan Enerbility worth 290 billion won (US$210 million) in August.

HD Hyundai Eco Vina is now located at the central Quảng Ngãi Province-based Dung Quất Economic Zone, in central Việt Nam.

According to HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, HD Hyundai Eco Vina has been producing thermal power boilers, port cranes, and liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant modules since 2006.

HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering plans to operate HD Hyundai Eco Vina as a manufacturing base for eco-friendly independent tanks and as a hub for port crane operations in Asia to meet the tightening environmental regulations by the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

Former Doosan Enerbility Vietnam company (Doosan Vina), a South Korean heavy industries manufacturer in Dung Quất Economic Zone, specialised in production and export ofmade-in-Việt Nam products including boilers, desalination plants and cranes to 39 countries from 2009.
