2 prestigious awards underline Sacombank’s pioneering role in digital payments

Sacombank has received two major awards from the National Payment Corporation of Vietnam for Outstanding Performance Bank and Outstanding Bank with Innovative Service in recognition of its remarkable achievements in service innovation and expansion of its digital payments ecosystem.

The Outstanding Performance Bank award for 2025 reaffirms Sacombank’s pioneering position in the industry and its ranking among the top performers across all key evaluation criteria.

In 2024 the bank processed more than 636 million outgoing transactions, equivalent to a 5.8 per cent market share, and over 622 million incoming transactions, or 5.7 per cent. In terms of value, it recorded VNĐ4.3 quadrillion (6.9 per cent of the market) and VNĐ4.4 quadrillion (7.3 per cent of the market).

These figures demonstrate its superior transaction-processing capacity, robust technological infrastructure, large-scale operational capability, and notable contribution to the growth of the national payment system.

NAPAS recognised Sacombank with the Outstanding Bank with Innovative Service award for its pioneering role in launching VietQR Global in Singapore.

The bank had earlier successfully enabled QR payments in Laos, Cambodia and Thailand.

Its technological proactiveness, rapid integration capabilities and close collaboration with payment infrastructure organisations have enabled it to deliver secure, convenient and cost-efficient cross-border payment services, helping promote trade, tourism and services between Việt Nam and neighbouring countries.

Last month international card organisation Visa had honoured Sacombank with three prestigious awards, Digital Pioneer in Fintech Partnership, Leadership in Merchant Sales Volume, and Leadership in Credit Payment Volume, recognising its consistent strategy in advancing digital payments and its robust technical execution at both the national and international levels.

Nguyễn Phương Huyền, director of Sacombank’s retail banking division, said: “Recognition from major card organisations is a testament to Sacombank’s commitment to promoting cashless payments and standardising its systems in line with international practices.

“We will maintain strong investment in technology, enhance customer experience, expand payment solutions and strengthen collaboration with partners at home and abroad to build a modern, sustainable payment ecosystem that contributes to advancing Việt Nam’s digital economy.”
