Việt Nam emerges as regional logistics leader at tlacSEA 2025

Việt Nam’s logistics sector takes centre stage at tlacSEA 2025, showcasing its rise as a regional powerhouse driven by innovation, sustainability, and strategic connectivity.

Việt Nam’s growing prominence in Southeast Asia’s logistics sector took centre stage at the Transport Logistic & Air Cargo Southeast Asia (tlacSEA) 2025, held recently in Singapore.

As the region undergoes rapid growth in freight and supply chain activity, Vietnamese logistics firms are emerging as major players driving regional connectivity and innovation.

At the event, Việt Nam’s logistics company, ITL Corporation, contributed strategic insights into the country’s transformation into a logistics hub. Tony Anh, Deputy General Director of ITL Corporation and CEO of ITL Aviation Logistics, joined a panel discussion on 'Transforming Transport Logistics through Technology and Regional Connectivity.' He highlighted Việt Nam’s accelerating shift towards digitalisation, the importance of regional integration and the country’s potential to become a major air logistics centre in Asia.

Complementing this perspective, Alexander Olsen of ITL Freight Management presented a session titled 'Sustainable Barging: A Key Component of Việt Nam’s Infrastructure Planning.' He underscored the critical role of inland waterway transport in reducing emissions and improving supply chain efficiency, positioning sustainable barging as a strategic pillar in Việt Nam’s long-term infrastructure development.

The event took place against the backdrop of surging logistics demand across Southeast Asia, driven by booming e-commerce, expanding intra-regional trade and large-scale infrastructure investment. According to Mordor Intelligence, the regional logistics market is projected to reach US$390 billion by 2030, with an annual growth rate of 6.2 per cent.

This year’s tlacSEA was the largest to date, drawing over 300 international enterprises and 10,000 trade visitors. The exhibition showcased cutting-edge solutions in digital transformation and sustainable logistics, reflecting the sector’s evolving priorities.

ITL's CEO Ben Anh emphasised the importance of advancing a shared logistics ecosystem while promoting sustainable practices through green and digital logistics models – an approach aligned with the broader transformation of Việt Nam’s logistics industry.
