The upgraded Payoneer checkout capabilities, initially launching in key markets within the Asia Pacific (APAC) region including Việt Nam, are powered by Stripe’s top-tier technology. This advancement will empower small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to accept a wider variety of payment methods through their online webstore checkout. This includes Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) options like Affirm and Klarna, as well as digital wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Since Payoneer Checkout's inception three years ago, the company has rapidly scaled from zero to nearly US$1 billion in run-rate annual volume, showcasing rapid market adoption and high customer demand. Over the past twelve months leading up to June 30, 2025, the business recorded $30 million in revenue, reflecting over 100 percent year-over-year growth.

“We are committed to simplifying cross-border online trade for SMBs,” said Adam Cohen, chief growth officer, Payoneer. “This partnership with Stripe is a strategic step in our journey to expand our Checkout offering and deliver a best-in-class user experience at scale.”

The expansion also comes at a time when Việt Nam is emerging as one of the most dynamic cross-border digital economies in Asia. According to Vietnam E-commerce Association (VECOM), cross-border e-commerce exports are projected to reach nearly $13 billion by 2027. This strong upward trajectory reinforces Việt Nam's expanding role in global digital commerce.

“Việt Nam's cross-border e-commerce sector is entering a transformative new chapter, presenting vast opportunities for local businesses to expand their global reach. By bringing Payoneer Checkout to all merchants with a US or Hong Kong entity and integrating it with Stripe’s world-class technology, we are empowering Vietnamese SMBs to compete internationally and seize the opportunities of this fast-growing market,” said Việt Vũ, country manager Vietnam at Payoneer.

Through this partnership, Payoneer and Stripe are enabling enhanced customer conversion rates, improving acceptance rates, helping to reduce fraud, and expanding payment acceptance options for SMBs selling direct-to-consumer via their own eCommerce webstores.
