Taiwan (China)-based Cooler Master is planning a significant expansion of its manufacturing operations in Bắc Ninh Province, proposing to lease an additional 11 hectares of land at Gia Bình Industrial Park.

The company also intends to build accommodation for workers and staff. If approved, the group’s total investment in Việt Nam could rise to between US$800 million and $900 million, with projected annual cumulative revenue of approximately $3 billion.

This proposal was the focal point of a recent working session between Vương Quốc Tuấn, chairman of the Bắc Ninh People’s Committee, and Andy Lin, chairman of Cooler Master.

Lin expressed his hope that the local authorities would actively support the expansion, which is expected to attract more vendors and partners to join Cooler Master’s supply chain operations in the area, thereby strengthening its global value chain.

Cooler Master’s project in Bắc Ninh received its initial investment certificate in January 2023 and had its capital increased in December 2024, bringing the current total to $200 million. The factory is under construction on a 10-hectare site in Gia Bình Industrial Park, focusing on manufacturing cooling modules for AI servers, machine learning systems and precision liquid-cooled air conditioners for data centres.

Phase 1 is expected to become operational by early 2026.

Chairman Tuấn emphasised that the expansion of Cooler Master’s operations would not only enhance the enterprise’s capabilities but also serve as a growth engine for Gia Bình Industrial Park and its surrounding areas. He affirmed that the province stands ready to provide strong support in terms of auxiliary infrastructure if the project proves to be a true driver of development.

Regarding the company’s proposal to construct worker and staff housing, Tuấn assigned the Department of Construction to study the feasibility of high-rise housing solutions to save land and incorporate essential facilities. He also suggested linking the residential area to vocational training institutions.

“We are actively promoting policies to support the development of a skilled technical workforce in high-tech and AI sectors. If Cooler Master establishes a training school and AI research centre, the province will offer its full support to ensure the project becomes a reality,” Tuấn said.

Bắc Ninh, ranked second nationwide in foreign direct investment (FDI) attraction with over $12 billion in the first half of 2025, is also among Việt Nam’s top five localities by GRDP, reinforcing its position as the industrial capital of the North.
