AEON Group appoints new General Director of AEON Vietnam

Daisuke joined the AEON Group in 2002, bringing over 23 years of extensive experience in finance, retail and supply chain management.

AEON Group has announced Tezuka Daisuke as its new Executive Officer (Japan), Chief Vietnam Business Officer of AEON and General Director of AEON Vietnam.

This change is part of AEON Group's organisational reform for the fiscal year 2025.

His predecessor, General Director Furusawa Yasuyuki, returned to Japan to assume a new role as Executive Officer of AEON Co Ltd, in charge of the General Merchandise Store Business and General Director of AEON Retail Co Ltd.

Daisuke joined the AEON Group in 2002, bringing over 23 years of extensive experience in finance, retail and supply chain management. Before the appointment, he held various key leadership roles across multiple companies within the AEON Group, such as the AEON Logistics Manager in 2021, Executive Officer of AEON in 2022 and President and CEO of AEON Global SCM Co Ltd in March 2022.

Daisuke has extensive experience across multiple industries, from finance to food retail. He possesses strong leadership skills in leading startups, executing turnarounds, and shaping corporate strategy. Notably, he led the establishment of two symbolic centres as next-generation supply chain models. His remarkable achievements include an automated logistics centre and a chef-quality process centre.

AEON has always been upheld by the corporate philosophy of 'contributing to the happiness of ordinary people in their daily lives'. In Việt Nam, the robust growth of the middle class has ignited a powerful aspiration for a more fulfilling life, both materially and spiritually.

AEON firmly believes in the vast potential of the Vietnamese market and has positioned Việt Nam as a top-priority region, driving group-wide initiatives to foster growth. By 2030, the company aims to expand its business scale in Việt Nam by more than three times.

AEON will continue to accelerate in contributing to the development of a sustainable and prosperous life for the people in the communities where AEON operates, by integrating the three core business pillars of AEON Group in Việt Nam: Shopping Mall Development, General Retail Business and Financial Services.

Under the direct authority of AEON Group, AEON Vietnam Co Ltd was officially established in 2011. Currently, AEON Vietnam is operating in five retail business segments in Việt Nam, including shopping malls, General Merchandise Stores and Supermarket, Speciality Store, Supermarkets and E-Commerce.

Since the opening of the first shopping mall AEON - Tân Phú Celadon in 2014, AEON Vietnam has expanded its business scale with over 7,000 employees nationwide.
