The three-month Suối Tiên Fruit Festival as an annual event will kick off on June 1 at Suối Tiên Theme Park in District 9, HCM City.

Suối Tiên Theme Park made the announcement at a press conference on May 22.

The festival, themed ‘Làm nông giữ gốc - Dân tộc giữ hồn - Hội nhập thời đại’ (Preserving agricultural roots - Upholding national soul - Integrating into the Era), will feature traditional cultural activities of its previous festivals with innovative commercial and tourism initiatives.

According to a Suối Tiên representative, the festival's agricultural fair will gather fruits from all regions across the country, with prices up to 30 per cent cheaper than market rates.

Some of the fruits include Sa Pa plums, Hà Nội plums, Đắk Lắk butter avocados, Hòa Lộc sand mangoes, Lái Thiêu mangosteens, Long An watermelons and Trà Vinh longan.

Organisers also said that up to 1,000 tonnes of fruit were sold at previous festivals.

This year, the festival is increasing the supply of fruits from Suối Tiên Farm and imported fruits, especially Ri6 durian, which was the best-selling product last year.

The annual festival welcomes around 800,000 to 1,000,000 visitors, but organisers said they hope the recent completion of Metro Line 1 will boost visitor numbers for this year's festival.

Notably, this is the first time the festival includes HCM City’s agricultural product promotion festival, with over 20 booths exhibiting fresh fruits, processed agricultural products and OCOP items.

Livestream sales will also take place to promote key agricultural products.

The festival also features fruit sculpture art competitions, music programmes, international cultural exchange activities, a food fair and international workshops.

Suối Tiên is offering various promotional programmes to support visitors attending the event.

The festival is co-organised by Suối Tiên Cultural Tourism Joint Stock Company, the city’s department of culture and sports, the city's department of industry and trade and the HCM City Union of Friendship Organisations.
