A new wool dyeing and weaving factory was opened by the German-based Suedwolle Group in the southern province of Ninh Thuận on Wednesday.

Located in the Du Long Industrial Park in Bắc Phong Commune, Thuận Bắc District, the Ninh Thuận Dyeing and Weaving Factory was invested and built by the Ninh Thuận Dyeing Textile Limited Company, a Suedwolle Group's subsidiary, with 100 per cent foreign capital.

The three-hectare factory cost US$21 million to build and has an initial production capacity of 2,000 tonnes per year, which will be doubled in the next development phase.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Karol Sieradzki, general director of Ninh Thuận Dyeing Textile Limited Company, said: "The factory's opening marks an important step in the Suedwolle Group's efforts to provide clients with an integrated supply chain in Việt Nam.

"With the combination of an existing wool yarn spinning factory, the Dalat Worsted Spinning Factory and this new dyeing factory, our clients can benefit from an optimised supply chain with competitive advantages, such as reduced delivery times and improved production efficiency."

According to Sieradzki, the factory is equipped with advanced dyeing equipment that operates at high speed with precision, minimising physical impact on fibres.

Compared to traditional dyeing machines, the factory is also cutting water use by 30 per cent and electricity consumption by 20 per cent, thanks to an improved water flow system that uses smaller pumps.

Speaking at the ceremony, Nguyễn Ngọc Minh, deputy director of the Ninh Thuận Department of Finance said: "With the Suedwolle Group's reputation, capacity and experience in many countries, I am confident that the group will continue to develop and establish a strong position in Việt Nam.

"The company is encouraged to apply modern, environmentally friendly technology in production, prioritise hiring local workers and focus on improving social welfare in the area."

Suedwolle Group is a global producer of worsted yarn made from pure wool and blended wool with over 3,000 employees worldwide and factories in Germany, Italy, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, China and now Việt Nam.

The launch of the new factory in Ninh Thuận showed the group's commitment to driving innovation and efficiency in Việt Nam's wool industry.
