In line with their shared commitment to gender equality, Nestlé Vietnam and the Việt Nam Women's Union (VWU) officially signed a cooperation agreement in December 2020 for the 'Nestlé Accompanies Women' programme.

This initiative aims to enhance gender equality, empower women through health and nutrition initiatives, ensure safety for women and children, promote digitalisation and support women in starting businesses to improve their income and quality of life. By the end of 2024, the programme has equipped over 25,400 members with valuable knowledge and skills, assisted more than two million households in understanding nutrition and food safety, and helped establish sustainable livelihood models for women.

Vice President of the VWU Trần Lan Phương, said: “The Việt Nam Women's Union greatly values Nestlé Vietnam’s support and collaboration through the 'Nestlé Accompanies Women' programme. This initiative empowers female members with essential skills in digital technology, enhancing their incomes and improving family life.

"Participants have confidently contributed to the goals of campaigns such as '5 No’s and 3 Cleans,' supporting women's comprehensive development during this digital transformation. We look forward to discussing how to integrate this programme into major Government initiatives, like the women's start-up programme, to reach even more members.”

Jacob said: “Nestlé Vietnam is grateful for this recognition from the VWU and sees it as a vital motivation to continue our effective partnership, empowering women, particularly in rural areas, to develop their skills and assert their roles at home and in the workplace. We are committed to helping them thrive in this new era of Việt Nam.”

The programme has fostered thousands of sustainable livelihood models, boosting the confidence of female members and solidifying their positions within their families and communities.

Established in Việt Nam in 1995, Nestlé Vietnam has remained dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for the Vietnamese people over the past 30 years. Through collaborative programmes that create shared value, the company consistently works towards achieving Việt Nam's sustainable and inclusive development goals, including gender equality and women's empowerment. This commitment is reflected in initiatives aimed at empowering female leaders, supporting women farmers, and the long-term strategic partnership with the Việt Nam Women's Union through the 'Nestlé Accompanies Women' programme.
