Vuong’s net worth was estimated at US$7.1 billion as of Saturday, an increase of $400 million in just three days and up $3 billion from the end of last year.

Currently, Trump holds a net worth of $4.9 billion, ranking 710th on Forbes' list.

Vuong’s wealth increased as Vingroup's stock (VIC) saw impressive gains of nearly 15 percent in one week and close to 30 percent in the past month.

He currently owns 691.27 million VIC shares, accounting for about 18 percent of the group's charter capital.

Vuong also controls additional shares through his private companies and holds a significant stake in automaker VinFast.

Property developer Sunshine chairman’s fortune surges

At the close of the trading session on Friday, the stocks of Sunshine Homes Development (SSH) and Sunshine Group (KSF) hit their ceiling prices, at VND101,800 ($4) and VND66,100 ($2.6), respectively.

After a year of stagnant growth, KSF skyrocketed over 60 percent in just one week while SSH increased nearly 47 percent.

However, the liquidity of both KSF and SSH remains low. On Thursday, only 900 SSH shares and 300 KSF shares were traded.

The assets of major shareholders of Sunshine Homes Development and Sunshine Group have quickly increased as the stock prices surged.

For instance, Do Anh Tuan, chairman of Sunshine Group, saw his wealth increase by VND12 trillion ($470.5 million) on the stock market in just one week, reaching VND36.14 trillion ($1.4 billion).

Tuan owns a 54.24-percent stake at Sunshine Group and 65 percent at Sunshine Homes Development.

In February, Tuan submitted his resignation as chairman of Sunshine Homes Development due to personal reasons.

With the wealth jump, Tuan surpassed Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, chairwoman of budget air carrier Vietjet Air, to claim the second spot in the list of the 10 richest people on Vietnam’s stock exchange, while Thao currently holds the third place.

The total assets of the top 10 wealthiest people on the Vietnamese stock exchange now exceed VND300 trillion ($12 billion), marking a spike of nearly VND40 trillion ($1.6 billion) over the past six months.
