Opportunities for German agribusinesses in Việt Nam

The Agriculture and Environment Newspaper and the German Agricultural Society (DLG) will focus on key agricultural industries, facilitating knowledge and technology transfer between delegations from the two countries.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed in HCM City on March 12 between the Agriculture and Environment newspaper and the German Agricultural Society (DLG), marking a new step in strengthening capacity and promoting sustainable development in Việt Nam’s agricultural sector.

Under the agreement, both sides will focus on key agricultural industries, facilitating knowledge and technology transfer between delegations from the two countries. Opportunities will also be explored to recognise individuals and organisations with significant contributions to agricultural development in both Việt Nam and Germany.

The MoU is expected to create favourable conditions for German agribusinesses, particularly those specialising in agricultural machinery, to access and expand their presence in the Vietnamese market. The partnership also aims to advance technological innovation, smart agricultural equipment and sustainable farming practices.

Editor-in-Chief of the Agriculture and Environment newspaper Nguyễn Ngọc Thạch noted that the newspaper has closely followed DLG’s activities since the “AGRITECHNICA Asia Live 2022” event. Since then, it has served as DLG’s sole media partner in Việt Nam.

Through the deal, the newspaper plans to expand its information network and strengthen connections with DLG’s 31,000 members, contributing to realising Việt Nam’s green development goals, Thạch added.

Katharina Staske, managing director of DLG Asia-Pacific, emphasised that the collaboration would not only enhance media outreach but also facilitate the application of agricultural advances in Việt Nam.

The MoU is seen as an opportunity for German businesses to transfer advanced technologies, supporting Việt Nam’s efforts to transition toward a greener and more sustainable food system.

With this strengthened cooperation, the Agriculture and Environment newspaper is expected to further engage with German partners and promote new technology solutions to help Vietnamese farmers adopt environmentally friendly practices.
