It has also given them new appealing packaging to attract both children and parents.
The company claimed Dutch Lady is one of the first to add vitamin C to fresh milk.
It also has protein, calcium and vitamin D.
The Government’s national nutrition strategy for 2020-30 aims for optimal nutritional security for all citizens by 2045, and FrieslandCampina Vietnam said it is actively supporting this mission by improving access to quality nutrition, especially for children.
The Southeast Asia Nutrition Survey done by FrieslandCampina and the National Institute of Nutrition of Viet Nam found hidden hunger, a reference to micronutrient deficiencies without visible symptoms, is a major concern among Vietnamese children.
It found alarming rates of inadequate daily intake: 81 per cent lack calcium, 95 per cent lack vitamin D, 66 per cent lack vitamin C, 56 per cent lack vitamin A, and 32 per cent lack vitamin B12.
These deficiencies can impair children's physical growth, brain development and academic performance.
Russell Lipchin, managing director of FrieslandCampina Vietnam, said: “In Việt Nam, we have developed cooperation programmes with government agencies and organisations to promote nutrition knowledge and education, not only empowering individuals to make informed dietary decisions but also establish lifelong healthy eating habits.” — VNS
