Vietnam’s Bac Ninh calls for Huawei investment
Chairman of the administration in Bac Ninh Province, northern Vietnam Vuong Quoc Tuan invited Chinese tech giant Huawei to research and explore investment opportunities in high-quality human resource training, hi-tech product and electronic component production, supporting industries, and semiconductors in the province during a provincial delegation’s trip to China on Saturday.

The delegation visited Huawei's research and development center in Beijing.
During the visit to China, chairman Tuan said that the province is focusing on attracting foreign investment with core criteria of quality, efficiency, technology, and environmental protection.
The province prioritizes projects which have advanced technology, are environmentally friendly, and promote digital transformation, Tuan noted.
Huawei is a leading Chinese technology firm with over 200,000 employees operating in 170 countries and regions, focusing on ICT infrastructure, digital energy, cloud computing, and terminal devices.
It is the fourth-largest company in the world in terms of research and development investment, holding over 140,000 patents globally. The company’s revenue totaled nearly US$120 billion in 2024.
The Bac Ninh delegation also worked with other Chinese technology companies, such as Digital China Group, Inspur Group, China Telecom, and 360 Security Group.
As of January 2025, industrial zones in Bac Ninh Province have had 1,300 operational projects, accounting for over 80 percent of the province's total industrial production value, according to the provincial administration.
The Bac Ninh Industrial Zones Authority has granted licenses to more than 2,100 projects of investors from 39 countries and territories, with total investment capital exceeding $29.3 billion.
The Foreign Investment Agency under the Ministry of Planning and Investment reported that Bac Ninh led Vietnam in attracting FDI, with registered capital reaching nearly $1.4 billion last month.
FDI investors invested in 39 provinces and cities, with the five largest FDI receiving localities being Bac Ninh, Dong Nai Province in the south ($959 million), Hanoi ($729.8 million), Ho Chi Minh City ($151.1 million USD), and Hai Phong City in the north (nearly $128 million).
