PM Chinh congratulated Ambassador Sriphiromya on her appointment and affirmed that the Vietnamese government would fully support her role as a bridge to further strengthen the growing enhanced strategic partnership between the two nations.

As Vietnam and Thailand will celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2026, PM Chinh suggested prioritizing high-level visits and exchanges and expressed his hope that his Thai counterpart would visit Vietnam in 2025.

The Vietnamese government leader emphasized the importance of the Three Connections strategy, ensuring mutual benefits.

He also proposed enhanced cooperation in tourism, infrastructure connectivity, security, and defense, particularly in combating terrorism and hostile organizations while ensuring that no individuals or groups use either country’s territory for hostile activities against the other.

PM Chinh encouraged the Thai diplomat to actively promote trade, investment, and economic cooperation between businesses and localities of both nations.

Additionally, he expressed gratitude to the Thai government for facilitating the preservation and development of relic sites and museums dedicated to President Ho Chi Minh, the Vietnam Town in Thailand, and for supporting the Vietnamese community in Thailand, recognizing their contributions to both Thailand’s development and bilateral relations.

Ambassador Sriphiromya conveyed the Thai leadership's greetings to PM Chinh and reaffirmed Thailand's commitment to strengthening high-level visits in 2025, including those by the Thai PM and President of the Thai National Assembly.

She pledged to make every effort to promote the friendship and the enhanced strategic partnership between the two nations during her tenure.

She agreed that both sides should enhance cooperation within ASEAN and in regional organizations such as the Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy, or ACMECS -- a cooperation framework among Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam to utilize member countries’ diverse strengths and to promote balanced development in the sub-region.

Later that afternoon, PM Chinh also met with Pakistan’s new Ambassador to Vietnam, Kohdayar Marri, as he commenced his tenure.

Highlighting the untapped potential between Vietnam and Pakistan, PM Chinh called for efforts to increase bilateral trade to over US$1 billion while expanding cooperation in culture, education, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.

The top Vietnamese official stressed the importance of closer ties that contribute to peace, stability, and development in South Asia, Southeast Asia, and the broader Indo-Pacific region.

Ambassador Marri pledged to work towards deepening Vietnam-Pakistan relations and noted growing interest from Pakistani businesses in the Vietnamese market.

The Pakistani diplomat emphasized the importance of business and local-level partnerships and broader cultural and tourism exchanges to enhance mutual understanding between the two nations.
