TKV records nearly $480 million in revenue for January

The Việt Nam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (TKV) exceeded its production targets for January 2025, reporting raw coal output of 2.95 million tonnes and coal consumption of 3.69 million tonnes.

Overburden removal reached 10.68 million cu.m, while tunnel excavation totalled 19.5 kilometres, surpassing planned targets.

In the mineral sector, TKV produced 130,100 tonnes of alumina (106 per cent oyear-on-year) and sold 58,200 tonnes. Copper concentrate production stood at 8,375 tonnes, with copper cathodes reaching 2,640 tonnes (112 per cent year-on-year). The group also produced 405 tonnes of zinc ingots and 16,600 tonnes of billet steel.

TKV also saw strong growth in power production and consumption, reaching 933 million kWh, a 20 per cent increase year-on-year. Additionally, the company produced 4,600 tonnes of explosives, selling 7,200 tonnes, and 7,300 tonnes of ammonium nitrate, with 5,600 tonnes sold.

Total January revenue was VNĐ12.227 trillion (US$477 million).

For February 2025, TKV aims to produce 3.09 million tonnes of raw coal and sell 4.095 million tonnes, with overburden removal reaching 12.755 million cubic metres and tunnel excavation 20.625 kilometres.

Planned mineral production includes 119,000 tonnes of alumina, with 123,000 tonnes expected to be sold, 7,400 tonnes of copper concentrate and 2,500 tonnes of copper cathodes. Power generation is targeted at 836 million kWh, alongside 6,340 tonnes of explosives and 15,800 tonnes of ammonium nitrate.

To achieve these goals, TKV will focus on safe and efficient operations, ensuring a stable coal supply for power generation and industrial production.

The company also aims to expand exports of high-quality coal and enhance power production in line with the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s energy strategy.
