He made his statement at a dialogue themed 'High-tech Investment in Vietnam - Taking Off in the Smart Era', co-organised by the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, FPT Corporation and VinaCapital, serving as a platform to explore new opportunities and foster investment cooperation during the World Economic Forum (WEF) held in Davos, Switzerland on January 21.
The dialogue underscored Việt Nam's commitment to positioning itself as a leader in high-tech innovation, fostering partnerships that align with global trends in digital transformation and smart solutions.

The country is leveraging science, AI, semiconductors and digital transformation as essential drivers to achieve ambitious double-digit growth. This strategy aligns with national priorities and has the full backing of the political system. Leading Vietnamese technology corporations have pledged their commitment to realising this vision, positioning the country as a technological leader in the region and beyond.
It has made significant strides in enhancing its technological reputation. Once a service provider for foreign enterprises, the country now stands alongside India as one of two nations earning over US$1 billion annually from software exports.
With a robust talent pool of about one million IT engineers and 500,000 software programmers, Việt Nam is attracting significant global investments. Notably, NVIDIA has chosen Việt Nam as a key investment destination, underscoring the country's growing importance in the global technology landscape.
In addition, Bình highlighted critical aspects contributing to Việt Nam's transformation into a leader in AI and semiconductors.
Việt Nam is strengthening its foundation for AI development by investing in advanced infrastructure. The launch of AI factories in both Việt Nam and Japan signifies a major step in creating ecosystems that support innovation and scalability in AI technologies.
These facilities are expected to drive domestic research, application and commercialisation of AI, enabling Việt Nam to integrate more effectively into the global AI supply chain. Việt Nam's proactive integration of AI and STEM education at all levels, starting from primary schools, is creating a strong pipeline of skilled professionals.
The President of Google's Asia-Pacific region, Sanjay Gupta, expressed his enthusiasm for Việt Nam's AI potential, emphasising that Google's research predicts AI could contribute nearly $80 billion annually to Việt Nam's GDP from now until 2030.
Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyễn Chí Dũng highlighted Việt Nam’s commitment to reforming its investment environment, ensuring it remains a safe, efficient, and competitive destination within the region. This aligns with the country's broader strategy to attract and retain global technology investments.
