Leaders of Vietnam’s budget carrier Vietjet meet strategic U.S. partners

The leaders arrived on Vietjet's maiden flight to Miami. The flight is an important milestone for Vietjet and aligns with comprehensive strategic cooperation with the U.S..

During his first presidential tenure in 2017, Donald Trump officially visited Vietnam.

He witnessed the signing of a contract between Boeing and Vietjet, which resulted in the airline ordering 100 737 Max planes.

Following Trump's suggestion, Vietjet doubled the number of ordered aircraft.

Vietjet will receive 14 737 Max aircraft later this year.

They are currently in the process of negotiating strategic agreements worth US$50 billion with leading groups, such as Boeing, GE, CFM, Pratt & Whitney, and Honeywell.

The carrier is also discussing other cooperation agreements equal to $14 billion that are estimated to create nearly 500,000 jobs for Americans.

Vietjet is a partner of leading tech giants, including Microsoft, Amazon Web Service, Apple, and Google.

The airline is in talks with Elon Musk’s SpaceX and several providers of in-flight internet technology to serve its fleet of hundreds of aircraft, fostering a hi-tech workforce, and ushering in a new era of innovation.

As Vietnam’s first private airline, Vietjet started with a fleet of three and has grown to a fleet of 115 new, modern, and fuel-efficient aircraft.

Entering a new period of growth with strong commitments from strategic partners, Vietjet is committed to continuing to offer affordable fares and quality services while serving as a bridge between people, culture, and business opportunities for enterprises and people worldwide.
