Projects included the launch and handover of 33 offshore windfarm foundations of the Greater Changhua 2b&4 project (CHW2204) to Orsted (Denmark), agreements to manufacture and supply of offshore wind farm foundations, a launch ceremony of Baltica 02 offshore windfarm substations in the Baltic Sea, the first-cut ceremony for Block B Central Processing Platform and the presentation of agreement of FSO Lạc Đà Vàng Block 15-1/05 of Murphy Cửu Long Bắc Oil Company.
It marked an important step in the development of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) and Vietnam Petroleum Technical Services Joint Stock Corporation (PTSC).
Speaking at the event, PM Chính praised Petrovietnam's efforts in implementing strategic oil and gas and renewable energy projects, including offshore wind power programmes with a total contract value of US$2 billion.
The PM hopes that Petrovietnam and PTSC will accelerate growth in the sector, achieving double-digit growth, about 15-20 per cent per year in the coming years, contributing to promoting national GDP growth, reaching about 8 per cent in 2025.
PM Chính also proposed that by 2026, Petrovietnam will receive technology transfer for producing wind turbines and wind turbine blades, thereby mastering all offshore wind power development technology, part of forming a renewable energy industry in Việt Nam.
According to Petrovietnam, the series of energy industry events, for the first time, have registered Việt Nam on the world offshore renewable energy map.
The CHW2204 is Việt Nam's first large export project within the latest fields of offshore renewable energy. For the Baltica 02 offshore wind farm substations in the Baltic Sea, one of the world’s largest wind power projects, this is the first time a Vietnamese company has successful won the bid and exported offshore wind farm transformer stations to Europe.
The Block B Central Processing Platform is a large-scale key State oil and gas project in Việt Nam. It is the largest oil and gas project ever for Việt Nam, with a total investment of nearly $12 billion, with an expected gas exploitation output of about 5.06 billion cubic metres/year for 20 years.
