Hà Nội Culinary Culture Festival 2024 opens

The Hà Nội Culinary Culture Festival 2024 opened in Thống Nhất Park in Hà Nội City on Friday.

Themed 'Hà Nội kết connects the World', the festival is organised by the Hà Nội Department of Culture and Sports under the direction of the Hà Nội’s People Committee.

Vice Chairwoman of the Hà Nội People's Committee Vũ Thu Hà emphasised that the Hà Nội Culinary Culture Festival 2024 aims to honour, preserve and promote the traditional cultural and culinary values ​​of Hà Nội capital.

“Hà Nội is proud to be a locality with a large number of national heritages, with the integration of Thăng Long culture with the cultural regions of Đoài, Đông, Kinh Bắc, and Sơn Nam Thượng,” said Hà.

The cultural festivals also promote the image of Hà Nội as a unique tourist, cultural and culinary destination.

It is an opportunity for the capital city and embassies of countries, localities, organisations and individuals to meet, exchange and promote human image as well as promote trade, tourism and cultural cooperation, according to Hà.

At the event, along with the Mễ Trì young sticky rice, Phú Thượng sticky rice making and Quảng An lotus tea marinating profession, 'Hà Nội Phở' was honoured to be registered by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

This is the honour and pride of the host community and food lovers. It is also an important legal basis to contribute to implementing measures to protect and promote the value of the intangible cultural heritage 'Hà Nội Phở'.

At the festival, 80 culinary booths showcased typical dishes and products of 16 foreign embassies in Việt Nam and eight provinces, typical traditional craft villages of Hà Nội and culinary products of localities in Việt Nam.

As the highlight of the festival, the Hà Thành Digital Phở programme, a unique creation combining traditional cuisine and technology, introduced a completely different perspective on technology application and digital transformation in the culinary industry in Việt Nam. Thereby, traditional phở is not only preserved but also developed and spread strongly in the digital technology era.

Within the framework of the festival, there are also activities to promote traditional cuisine and heritage, folk games, traditional and modern art performances and workshops on improving the quality of human resources and developing culinary culture.

The festival will last until the end of Sunday.
