The searches are categorised into seven key topics: most popular general search trends, AI tools, movies, travel, concerts, skills, and ‘how to’ queries.

This year, sports dominated the general search rankings, with major four-year cycle tournaments like the Euro, Asian Cup, Olympics, Copa America and Paralympics drawing the attention of Vietnamese internet users.

In addition, "Tiến trình biến đổi khí hậu" (Climate Change Progress) and  Bão Yagi (Typhoon Yagi) are also among the top 10 overall trending searches by those in Việt Nam, reflecting that Vietnamese people are increasingly concerned about environmnent issues and climate change, especially after the recent severe damage caused by natural disasters in the country.

In 2024, searches for AI tools saw significant growth in Việt Nam, with Gemini, Viggle, Character AI and ChatGPT being among the most searched terms.

Vietnamese users are not only aware of established AI tools but also increase interest in exploring new AI applications. This indicates that Vietnamese people are becoming more open to experimenting with new technological solutions and services.
