Cambodia’s trade with ASEAN up 13 pct in Jan.-Sept.
Cambodia’s trade volume with its fellow ASEAN member states was valued at $11.72 billion in the first nine months of 2024, up 13 percent from $10.37 billion over the same period last year, said an official report released on Tuesday.
The kingdom exported products totally worth $3.81 billion to other ASEAN countries during the January-September period, up 13 percent from $3.37 billion over the same period last year, said the report from the General Department of Customs and Excise.
Meanwhile, Cambodia’s total import from other ASEAN countries amounted to $7.91 billion, also up 13 percent from the $7 billion recorded a year earlier, it added.
Cambodia’s trade volume with the ASEAN accounted for 28.3 percent of its 41.4-billion-dollar total trade volume during the first nine months of this year, the report said.
The kingdom’s top five trading partners in ASEAN during the above-mentioned period were Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia, the report added.
ASEAN (the Association of Southeast Asian Nations) comprises Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
