Viettel Post (VTP) to pay $7.4 mil cash dividend

Viettel Post's Board of Directors have passed a resolution regarding the distribution of dividends for the year 2023 in cash, amounting to 15 per cent per share, translating to VNĐ1,500 for each shareholder.

With a circulating supply of over 121.7 million shares, Viettel Post anticipates disbursing approximately VNĐ182.6 billion (US$7.4 million) for this dividend distribution.

The shareholder list closure date and payment are scheduled for September and October.

Viettel Post recently unveiled plans to establish a subsidiary in the Lao People's Democratic Republic. This new entity, known as Viettel Post Lao Limited Liability Company, focusses on delivery services, logistics and cross-border transportation within Laos.

The subsidiary's primary goal is to invest in infrastructure and offer a range of services, including delivery, warehousing, domestic and international freight transport, commodity trading, e-commerce, import-export operations and forwarding services.

Viettel Post's foreign investment capital stands at VNĐ136.1 billion ($5.34 million), all invested entirely in cash.

In another update, Viettel Post has recently announced a change in its leadership structure, appointing a new Chairman of the Board of Directors.

In this latest development, Nguyễn Việt Dũng has been entrusted with the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors for the term 2024-2029, effective from August 26, succeeding Nguyễn Thành Nam.

The current composition of the Viettel Post Board of Directors includes Chairman Nguyễn Việt Dũng, and Vice Chairmen Hoàng Trung Thành, Đinh Thanh Sơn and Phùng Việt Thắng.

On the stock market, shares of Viettel Post closed the week flat at VNĐ73,600 a share.
