'Passport' for local businesses to join the aerospace production chain

This was discussed at the forum "Aerospace Quality Management System" - AS9100 certification held by the Hanoi Supporting Industry Business Association (Hansiba) on September 24.

Speaking at the event, Hansiba chairman, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Supporting Industries Nguyễn Hoàng said that the aerospace manufacturing industry was making rapid changes rapidly in recent years.

“The aerospace manufacturing industry plays an important role in realising Việt Nam's industrialisation strategy, with a focus on high-tech and supporting technology industries,” said Hoàng.

The certification of "Aerospace Quality Management System" - AS9100 - will help Vietnamese businesses access the global production chain in the aerospace field," said Hoàng.

According to Hoàng, Hansiba, N&G Holdings Group and ten member enterprises of the Kobe aviation industry (KAN), Japan recently signed a cooperation agreement on establishing Techno Park Vietnam Complex.

According to the agreement, KAN and Hansiba businesses will cooperate on technology and production processes, especially global production certificates. Meeting the International System of Technical and Quality Standards for the aerospace manufacturing industry is a necessary condition for Vietnamese enterprises to participate in the world’s aerospace component production and supply chain.

Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade Nguyễn Đình Thắng said that the city's supporting industry currently is focusing on attracting businesses to invest in production development in HANSSIP- the industrial zone specialised for supporting industries and other industrial parks in Hà Nội to develop industries in the fields of mechanics, manufacturing, electronics - information, high-tech supporting industries, especially aviation enterprises.

“Hà Nội Department of Industry and Trade hopes that businesses will focus on research, promote investment and soon have solutions to apply AS9100 Certification - Aerospace Industry Quality Management System to production and qualified for participating in domestic and international production chains," said Thắng.

Onaga Masaru, chairman of Onaga Vietnam Company, said the aircraft manufacturing industry is a relatively new field in Việt Nam and currently, there is no domestic manufacturer qualified to participate in the aircraft supply chain. Boeing, the American aircraft manufacturing company, is interested in the Vietnamese market, opening up business opportunities for the country, including supporting industry enterprises.
