Kingdom’s agri products displayed at Jakarta expo

Several Cambodian agricultural products such as rice, cashew nuts, Kampot pepper and Kampong Speu palm sugar were displayed at the Indonesia Plantation Expo (3rd BUNEX 2024) in Jakarta, Indonesia from September 12-14.

Cambodian officials in Indonesia organized the booth in Jakarta at the expo, said an official statement. The expo was co-organized by TRIBUN EO Gramedia Compass and the General Department of Agriculture of the Ministry of Agriculture of Indonesia in Tangerang, Banten Province.

The exhibition showcased agricultural products such as palm oil, rice, coffee, tea, coca, rubber and other products, as well as agricultural machinery.

In Cambodia’s booth, items such as rice, cashew nuts, Kampot pepper, palm sugar, Kampong Speu, Mondulkiri coffee, mango jam, rice wine, amok, red curry, stirring ingredients and Khmer cooking utensils were displayed, the release said.

It may be noted that the economic ties between Cambodia and Indonesia continued to gather strength over the years and last year Indonesia was ranked the sixth biggest trading partner of Cambodia, a jump of six positions from the 12th rank in 2022.

In 2023, Indonesia was also the third biggest trading partner of Cambodia in ASEAN after Vietnam and Thailand.

In the January to August period of 2024, trade between Cambodia and Indonesia reached $740 million, according to GDCE.
