Vietnam’s corporate bond issuance totals $7.8bn since early 2024
Since the beginning of this year, Vietnam’s corporate bond issuance has totaled approximately US$7.8 billion, according to a report by the Vietnam Bond Market Association.

Of the total, there were 187 issues of corporate bonds through private placements with a total value of VND184.8 trillion ($7.4 billion).
Meanwhile, public offerings accounted for merely 11 issues valued at VND11.8 trillion ($417.9 million).
The report showed that there were seven corporate bond issues with a total value of more than VND10.1 trillion ($403.3 million) between August 1 and 9.
Redemptions totaled VND1.3 trillion ($52 million) in the period and VND111.6 trillion ($4.5 billion) since the beginning of this year, falling over a quarter compared with the same period last year.
Banks took the lead in redeeming corporate bonds with a 70.6-percent proportion of the total, equivalent to around VND78.8 trillion ($3.2 billion).
Over VND128.3 trillion ($5.1 billion) worth of corporate bonds will be due in the remaining months of this year with 41.6 percent of such bonds issued by real estate enterprises and 14.9 percent by banks.
The issuers of the most active corporate bonds included Fortune Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank with VND2.9 trillion ($115.9 million), Orient Commercial Joint Stock Bank with VND2.1 trillion ($83.9 million), and Vinhomes Joint Stock Company with VND1.1 trillion ($43.9 million).
