The expo, themed ‘Green Logistics - The Foundation for Sustainable Development,’ features as many as 400 booths, up over 30 percent year on year.

The exhibition, held by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, wraps up on Saturday.

Phan Thi Thang, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, said that the hike in the number of foreign exhibitors demonstrates the broad appeal of the industry in Vietnam.

Among the participating firms are SeaRates by DP World in the United Arab Emirates, Singapore’s JGL Worldwide, ITL Corporation, Germany’s DHL Group, and SEA Logistics Vietnam, along with other logistics companies.

The exhibitors are showcasing a wide range of advanced logistics management software, automation solutions, and AI and IoT logistics platforms aimed at supporting green logistics development and reducing environmental impact.

“The logistics industry in Vietnam has made great strides and is attracting more foreign investors thanks to its role as one of the world’s trade and production hubs and the explosion of e-commerce,” Thang affirmed.

Dao Trong Khoa, chairman of the Vietnam Logistics Business Association, said that Vietnam is moving toward green and sustainable development.

Green logistics is not only a trend but will also become mandatory in Vietnam to achieve sustainable growth.

Alexander Olsen, director at ITL Corporation, stated that Vietnam is considered an emerging logistics market.

As a result, many foreign investors are entering the local market.

The 'transport and delivery' space is one of the highlights of this year’s exhibition, featuring around 100 exhibitors, including THACO Industries, Vina Dowell, ACT Logistics, and Russia’s Transit.

Notably, three networking and e-commerce platform companies from China, Orange Logistics Organization, WIFFA, and Breakbulk Club, are participating in the expo.

According to the World Bank, Vietnam's Logistics Performance Index score reached its highest-ever mark of 3.3 points in 2023, up from 3.27 in 2018.

Vietnam was among the top 10 emerging logistics markets, according to transport and logistics service provider Agility's annual rankings in 2023.

Thang said that the logistics industry plays a key role in economic development, helping Vietnam address global geopolitical uncertainties.

Moreover, the industry is expected to beef up the country’s export revenue.

Between January and July this year, Vietnam’s export value amounted to US$440.6 billion.
