New border gates linking Vietnam, China put into service

The opening of the border gate pair is expected to promote trade and economic growth in the Hoanh Mo - Dong Van economic border zone and the Bac Phong Sinh border economic zone, both located in Quang Ninh.

The launch also results from a business trip by a high-ranking Quang Ninh delegation to the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in February this year, positively contributing to the friendship and comprehensive partnership between the two locales.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Vu Van Dien, vice-chairman of the Quang Ninh administration, applauded the two localities for their efforts to put the border gate pair and the customs clearance route into operation.

Dien suggested that both sides keep up their close cooperation in managing and operating the facilities effectively and safely.

He underlined the need for both locales to invest more in the infrastructure system of the border gates in order to offer seamless procedures for border trade and tourism activities.
