MoC asks investors, traders to take part in foreign exhibitions

Ministry of Commerce (MoC) Tuesday urged businessmen entrepreneurs, investors and traders to take part in foreign exhibitions to promote Khmer products, tourism, trade and investment which will be held in July and August in four countries.

According to the different announcements released on June 24, the Ministry of Commerce asked traders, investors and the public to take part in “The 30th China Lanzhou Investment and Trade Fair” to be held from July 6-10 at Gansu International Convention and Exhibition Center in Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, the People’s Republic of China.

“This annual event will provide opportunities to participants to gain knowledge and expand their business connectivity through participation in many activities such as trade and investment promotion, sales, exhibition, conferences and commercial exchange with regions along the Belt and Road countries,” read the announcement.

The organizing committee offers a booth sized 18m x 36m free of charge to Cambodian companies to display products and services.

The MoC also informed all businessmen entrepreneurs and the public that People’s Committee of Da Nang City is hosting ‘The EWEC International Trade, Tourism, and Investment Fair-Da Nang 2024’ which is scheduled to be held from August 2-7 at Da Nang Fair and Exhibition Centre in Da Nang, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The ministry said, “The International Trade Fair is part of a trade promotion aimed at strengthening cooperation in the fields of economy, tourism and investment exchanges between local and international enterprises in ASEAN member countries.”

For the participation in the above exhibition, the organizing committee will provide two complementary standard booths to the Ministry of Commerce for free of charge.

Similarly, the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan Pvt. Ltd. are organizing “The 16th Food, Agri & Livestock Asia International Trade Fair and Conferences” from August 9-11 at Lahore Expo Center, Pakistan.

The Ministry of Commerce noted that this international event aims to provide opportunities to showcase and discover the latest machineries and equipment in the food, agriculture and livestock industry.

Likewise, the Cambodian Embassy in the Federal Republic of Germany will organize an exhibition of Khmer food and products ‘Khmer Village’ which will take place from August 24-25 at the Cambodian Embassy in Berlin of the Federal Republic of Germany.

“The above exhibition is organized to promote and disseminate Cambodian culture and products in the international market,” the ministry highlighted.

Keo Mom, Chamber of the Professional and Micro-Enterprises of Cambodia and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Lyly Food Industry, told Khmer Times yesterday that the Ministry of Commerce always encourages to organize exhibitions of Cambodian products in many countries.

“We have always observed that the Ministry of Commerce always strives to showcase our Khmer products in different countries,” Mom added.

Ministry of Tourism’s Secretary of State and Spokesman Top Sopheak told Khmer Times yesterday this is good, as always, that all relevant ministries and institutions of the Royal Government of Cambodia cooperate with each other to promote Khmer products thereby enhancing Cambodian reputation.

Sopheak said, “Just as our tourism sector is a multi-sector, it does not mean the work related to tourism is done only by the Ministry of Tourism, but the relevant ministries and institutions also contribute to promoting tourism.”

He said that it is a good opportunity to promote Cambodian tourism potential to the international, not only tourism, but also trade and investment.

“These activities are very important that the Ministry of Tourism always supports and cooperates to attract investors and tourists who come to our country,” added Sopheak.
