The Horasis China Meeting 2024, which kicked off in the province on Sunday, and runs until Tuesday, features around 700 representatives from local and international trade associations, investors, experts, and diplomatic agencies.

The opening ceremony was attended by Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha and other high-ranking officials.

Ten foreign-invested firms were awarded investment registration certificates for their projects in the province, with a total pledged capital of more than US$223 million.

Among them are Dan On Foods Corporation, which received a certificate for its investment in a milk processing project with a total registered capital of $40 million, and Paihong Vietnam Company, which was awarded a certificate for its $65-million project to produce fabric.

Investment certificates were also issued to many infrastructure, social housing, and real estate projects funded by local enterprises.

Besides, many cooperation agreements were signed within the framework of the event. Specifically, Becamex IDC Corp cut a deal with Sunwah, a Hong Kong-based conglomerate.

Under the deal, the two firms will focus their partnership on innovation, digitalization, and sustainability toward a net-zero emission approach.

Vo Van Minh, chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, signed a cooperation agreement with Viettel Post Joint Stock Corporation to spur logistics infrastructure and e-commerce fields, moving toward building a world-class logistics hub in Binh Duong.

The Horasis China Meeting 2024 was co-held by the provincial People’s Committee, Horasis, which is an independent, international think tank, and the China Federation of Industrial Economics.

Before the event, the Horasis Asia Meeting 2023 and the Horasis India Meeting 2022 took place in Binh Duong Province.

Binh Duong was ranked among the three largest recipients of foreign investment in Vietnam in 2023.

Over 4,000 foreign-invested projects are operating in the province.
