Wang Ning, secretary of the Yunnan Party Committee, made the statement during his meeting with top Vietnamese legislator Vuong Dinh Hue. The meeting was part of Hue’s official visit to China from Sunday to Friday this week.

Wang affirmed that Yunnan attaches importance to its friendship and cooperation with Vietnam, and stands ready to facilitate the exchange of all-level delegations and boost cooperation mechanisms.

Yunnan will also strengthen cooperation in the fields of infrastructure, green and modern agriculture, green energy, healthcare, culture, education, and tourism, as well as enhance customs clearance efficiency.

Speaking highly of the cooperation mechanism among the five secretaries of the provincial Party Committees of Vietnam and China, Wang announced that he would chair a meeting on this cooperation mechanism next month.

For his part, the chairman of the Vietnam’s National Assembly (NA) hailed the positive outcomes of the cooperation among Vietnamese agencies and Yunnan over the past years.

NA Chairman Hue reaffirmed Vietnam’s policy on further deepening ties and elevating the Vietnam-China traditional friendship, comprehensive strategic partnership, and a community with a shared future.

Vietnam pledged to provide favorable conditions for its localities to establish and develop their cooperation ties with Chinese partners, especially those sharing the borderline with Vietnam such as Yunnan.

The Vietnamese legislature is willing to offer tremendous support to Vietnamese localities and Yunnan to achieve stronger growth.

The NA chairman suggested both sides should promote exchanges between local leaders and continue to effectively implement the existing cooperation agreements between Yunnan and Vietnamese locales.

Hue stressed the need for both sides to cooperate in border patrols, couter-terrorism activities, and transnational crime prevention.

He called for further collaboration efforts in key sectors like railway, tourism, and people-to-people exchange.
