FPT and Siemens cooperate to promote technology development

FPT Corporation and Siemens AG on Monday signed a cooperation agreement, in which the two companies will collaborate in promoting technology development both in Việt Nam and globally.

Under the agreement, the collaboration will focus on various areas, including smart buildings, green and smart data centres, digital industry solutions, automotive software development, and semiconductor chip production.

In the infrastructure segment, Siemens intends to serve as a global supply partner for FPT in smart infrastructure construction projects and data centres, providing smart infrastructure products and solutions. This partnership will enable FPT to leverage Siemens' advanced solutions to support its global customers.

Regarding digital transformation, the two companies aim to create an ecosystem of digital transformation services and products for each other as well as their respective customers. FPT is expected to join Siemens' Xcelerator ecosystem to accelerate the digital transformation process using Siemens' technology platform.

FPT also hopes to become a service provider for Siemens EDA software technology company and a global partner for deploying Mendix, Siemens' artificial intelligence and low-code platform. These collaborations will facilitate the development of innovative solutions for customers across various industries.

Furthermore, Siemens will support FPT engineers by providing advanced training courses, equipping them with the necessary skills and expertise in the industrial field. FPT engineers will receive certificates from the Ministry of Industry and Trade at Siemens' level. Siemens will also share knowledge and experience in technology and industry with FPT.

The cooperation between FPT and Siemens signifies a strategic alliance to leverage each other's strengths and capabilities in promoting technological advancements and digital transformation in Việt Nam and beyond.

At the event, FPT’s Chairman Trương Gia Bình, identified five key focus areas: digital transformation, green transformation, artificial intelligence, automotive software, and semiconductor chips.

Bình said FPT recognised the importance of digital transformation and aims to leverage technologies such as artificial intelligence and green solutions to drive innovation and efficiency. The corporation planned to invest in infrastructure, particularly in an AI supercomputer, to further enhance its capabilities in these areas.

Furthermore, FPT has also ventured into the semiconductor chip segment. This move demonstrated FPT's recognition of the significance of semiconductor technology and its potential for collaboration with Siemens, which has expertise in this area. Siemens’ Chairman and CEO Roland Busch, expressed his confidence in supporting FPT with its semiconductor chip technologies.

Siemens is renowned for its expertise in various fields, including building smart infrastructure and providing digital industry solutions. Busch emphasised that Siemens can apply its knowledge and experience in these areas to further enhance its collaboration with FPT.
