The prices for registration fee determination took effect from November 6, 2023.

A completely-built-up Kia Telluride car, a mid-size crossover SUV hailing from South Korea, carries a registration fee determination price of nearly VND2.7 billion (US$109,290).

Accordingly, residents in Hanoi buying a car will be charged VND322.68 million ($13,072) for a registration fee, while the charge stands at VND269.8 million ($10,950) in Ho Chi Minh City.

However, these act as reference as Kia Telluride cars are not yet officially sold in Vietnam.

In late 2021, THACO Auto, a Vietnamese automaker and car distributor, showcased the Kia Telluride at its factory in Quang Nam Province, central Vietnam.

Although the company announced plans to offer the model for sale in late 2022, it has not imported any units as of now.

The delay was attributed to its high prices.

The list also includes the price of Volvo C40 Recharge, a subcompact luxury crossover SUV manufactured by Volvo Cars, which is a Swedish multinational car manufacturer.

Its registration fee determination price is VND2.33 billion ($94,300).

The price is expected to be lower when Volvo C40 Recharge cars are available for sale in Vietnam.

The Volvo C40 is a derivative of the XC40 Recharge, Volvo's first all-electric car.

A C40 car has a coupe-style sloping roofline and is capable of producing 408 horsepower.

The Volvo C40 Recharge boasts a lithium-ion battery with a range of some 420 kilometers.

The desirable Suzuki Jimny, a four-wheel drive off-road mini SUV, manufactured by Japanese automaker Suzuki, had its registration fee determination price set at VND789 million ($31,960).
