MB summit to chart digital trajectory with global thought leaders

On November 8, 2023, Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB) will host an international forum, "Digitalise to Revolutionise – Shaping tomorrow’s business landscape," featuring a host of global experts poised to deliver actionable insights on digital transformation.

The conference, set against the backdrop of an increasingly digitized global economy, seeks to connect Vietnam's policy architects and business leaders with transformative strategies from world-renowned experts from Columbia Business School.

With years of in-depth research and strategic consulting experience for leading global corporations, high-profile speakers David L. Rogers, Sheena S. Iyengar, and Paul J. Bailo will share practical methods and lessons that can be quickly integrated into the national digital economic framework and individual enterprise digital strategies.

Digital transformation no longer a distant future

In Vietnam, the Prime Minister's June 2020 enactment of the National Digital Transformation Program aims to develop a digital government, economy, and enhance the nation's competitive capacity, targeting digital economy to account for 30 per cent of GDP by 2030.

Pioneering policies and efforts by leading organizations have driven Vietnam into a new era of innovation and digitalisation, especially in the banking sector.

As digital transformation becomes an irreversible trend, Vietnam has taken decisive steps towards its execution.

According to the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), by the close of 2022, substantial investments in digital transformation had positioned Vietnam as a leader in digital banking applications, experiencing a 40 per cent surge in digital payments within the last three to four years. Currently, 96 per cent of banks in Vietnam are developing digital strategies, with 92 per cent already offering internet and mobile banking services.

However, implementing digital transformation effectively, and sustainably remains a significant challenge for organizations of all sizes. Surveys by strategic consulting firms like McKinsey and BCG indicate that over 70 per cent of digital projects do not meet the growth and sustainability expectations set by enterprises.

Organizations must be ready to face market fluctuations, changing customer behaviors, and technology investment risks. Challenges in financial and human resources, infrastructure, and systematic digital strategies all increase the risk of failure in practical deployment.

Top digital transformation advisors to visit Vietnam

In collaboration with the government, banking sector, and partner enterprises to promote digital transformation and contribute to the professional, effective, and robust image of Vietnamese banks and businesses, MB organizes the "Digitalise to Revolutionize – Shaping tomorrow's business landscape" conference. This event connects and disseminates the vision of digital transformation from global experts to Vietnamese businesses.

The event features world-leading experts in digital transformation and the art of choice from Columbia Business School, including:

David L. Rogers, a digital transformation specialist with strategic consulting experience for top-tier corporations like Google, Microsoft, Citi, Visa, HSBC, Unilever, Toyota, and many other esteemed institutions. His book, "The Digital Transformation Playbook," has been published globally, becoming one of the most recommended reads on the realities of digital transformation implementation.

Sheena S. Iyengar, a Columbia Business School professor, is a world authority on innovation and the art of choice. Cited by prestigious global media outlets, her books and research have been embraced and implemented by leading corporations such as Microsoft and Deloitte.

Paul J. Bailo, a product design genius and senior advisor for top US companies like Apple, AT&T, Bank of America, and Goldman Sachs. With deep expertise in digital transformation, digital marketing, digital business operations, and digital experience design, He has successfully led numerous complex and challenging digital projects.
