VIB cards most popular on the market

Leading card trends over the past five years, VIB has stepped up its presence in the market by building a universe of cards for its users.

VIB's card lines share a common point in creative characteristics, high technology content, and personalisation to meet the spending needs of tech-savvy citizens.

A universe of creative cards with superior features and promotions

VIB designs tailored card lines to meet the needs of specific customer spending, such as for families, online shopping, international travel services, and cash withdrawals via credit cards.

Launched in 2019, VIB Cash Back is one of the first cashback card lines. The bank has now increased the cashback level by 2.5 times, with a maximum of VND2 million ($82) per month when spending via card. This card line is popular among users for daily transactions.

Similarly, the VIB Super Card also boasts the highest cashback rate in the market.

Despite its recent launch in June 2023, the card line has attracted more than 7,000 new and frequent users thanks to the cashback and point accumulation feature of up to 15 per cent.

As "the Best New Credit Card in Vietnam in 2023", the VIB Super Card has made a big splash in the market. The card enables users to choose cashback or reward features, card number, statement date, and minimum payment amount. With just a few simple steps, users can own one of VIB's most personalised cards.

As for the VIB Rewards Unlimited card line, the point accumulation rate for each shopping transaction at shopping centres is 1–10 points for every VND1,000. With a total spending of VND10 million in the statement period, all cardholders can enjoy double bonus points for the period. Reward points are accumulated into gift vouchers, annual fees, airline tickets, or even cash right on the MyVIB mobile banking app.

VIB also pays special attention to creating a superior cashless shopping experience for Vietnamese travellers. The two most popular card lines for this group are VIB Travel Élite and VIB Premier Boundless. The card lines demonstrate VIB's sophisticated care for customers with the privilege of premium services.

VIB Travel Élite focuses on spending experience throughout the journey abroad. Over the past three years, it has maintained the best foreign currency transaction fees on the market. Notably, since mid-March this year, VIB has lowered the fees to zero per cent for the first three statement periods and only one per cent for the following periods, which is superior to the average rate of 4 - 6 per cent in the market.

Meanwhile, VIB Premier Boundless offers cardholders free access to more than 1,000 global business lounges. In addition, cardholders can earn Vietnam Airlines bonus miles to redeem for airline tickets or seat upgrades for subsequent flights.

With the leading e-commerce card line, VIB LazCard, cardholders can receive up to a half refund for online shopping at Lazada. By fulfilling the demand of customers, VIB LazCard has gone viral, with more than 1,000 new card openings after only five days of release. To date, this is still the most popular card line at VIB for online shoppers on the e-commerce platform.

Meanwhile, VIB Online Plus 2in1 is also popular with its cashback feature of 3 per cent for online spending in the domestic market and 6 per cent abroad. With card purchases or withdrawals in person, users also receive a cashback of 0.1 per cent on each transaction.

Targeting Vietnamese families, VIB, in collaboration with international card organisation Visa, issued the first credit card line specifically for parents with young children on the market, VIB Family Link. Accordingly, for every VND1,000 spent on family members on education, entertainment, healthcare, and food, the cardholder will receive up to 40 accumulated Smile points that can be converted into cash, an e-voucher, or annual fees.

In particular, Smile is accumulated through spending via a Family Link card. Parents can sign up to automatically transfer Smile to a daily savings account for their children with just a few simple steps via MyVIB or the 1800 8195 hotline.

In addition to outstanding features and incentives for all in-person and online spending, VIB cards also meet customers' cash withdrawal needs.

With the Financial Free card line, VIB offers three "no-fee" privileges for cardholders, including: a lifetime annual fee waiver; unlimited withdrawals up to 100 per cent of the credit limit; and zero per cent interest on all spending and withdrawal transactions.

In addition, from now until December 31, 2023, Financial Free cardholders can also enjoy free cash withdrawals at any ATM nationwide.
