The expo, VTG 2023, has attracted more than 500 exhibitors from 12 countries and territories, including Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong (China), India, Italy, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, and Thailand.

“Despite the multiple challenges faced by Việt Nam’s textile industry in the first half of this year, this is the pivotal moment to proactively undertake a factory quality assessment, conduct a comprehensive examination of production lines and management mechanisms, and leverage the implementation of digital tools to enhance overall efficiency and cost reduction, ultimately turning this crisis into an opportunity,” Judy Wang, president of Yorkers Trade & Marketing Service, one of the organisers, said.

Given the acute labour shortage in recent years, Việt Nam’s textile industry is progressively embracing automation and digital manufacturing.

Renowned international textile machinery manufacturers have been invited to demonstrate their cutting-edge automation technologies.

The shift towards smart factory practices has become a central focus in line with Việt Nam’s strong commitment to digital transformation.

The exhibition highlights several well-established companies making substantial contributions to digitising textile production facilities.

Given that the domestic production capacity only meets 25 per cent of fabric demand, the textile sector heavily relies on imports, and this has garnered the attention of manufacturers in countries such as India, South Korea and China, who are showcasing their offerings at the event.

This year many international exhibitors are onsite to present environment-friendly dyeing products.

The International Textile and Apparel Accessories Exhibition, the International Dyeing and Chemicals Industry Exhibition, and the International Footwear Machinery and Material Exhibition are also being held simultaneously, all at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre in District 7.

Organised by the National Trade Fair & Advertising Company (VINEXAD) and Yorkers Trade & Marketing Service Co., Ltd, the expos will run until October 28.
