Germany's Kurz unveils $40 million Binh Dinh plant

German thin film technology company Kurz celebrated the inauguration of its advanced foil and thin film manufacturing facility at the Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Industrial Park on September 8. The facility's primary product will be the high-tech 'hot stamping foil'.

The initial phase of the Kurz factory has required an investment of $40 million and boasts a production capacity of 15 million square metres of products per annum.

The plant's flagship products are Luxor and Alufin films. Their 'hot stamping foil' is employed during the thermal pressing process on plastic surfaces, producing intricate decorative patterns, thereby enhancing the uniqueness and elegance of the product. These films serve supply chains across various sectors such as the automotive industry, mobile phones, household appliances, and even banking.

Speaking at the plant's inauguration, Nguyen Tuan Thanh, Deputy Chairman of Binh Dinh People's Committee, highlighted Kurz Corporation's importance as a pioneer of the business community investing in the Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh.

"This new Kurz Vietnam plant promises strong economic results and signifies innovation and sustainable growth for the province. It diversifies Binh Dinh's indistrial sector and opens up employment opportunities, contributing to the overall prosperity of the region," he said.

Kurz Corporation made a charitable contribution to the Quy Nhon University and Van Canh district's scholarship fund, with a total value of VND1.3 billion (approximately $54,900).

Earlier on the same day, Binh Dinh People's Committee initiated the construction project connecting National Highway No.19 to Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh.

The project, with a length of almost 20km, runs through An Nhon town and the districts of Tuy Phuoc and Van Canh. The total investment for the road comes to $49.4 million, with about $33.8 million coming from the central budget while the remainder is sourced from local funds.

The road will feature a 12m-wide base, an 11m-wide surface, two mechanised lanes, and two rudimentary lanes, complemented by drainage and street lighting. The 24-month project will be overseen by Binh Dinh Transport Project Management Board.
