Ho Chi Minh City to host 400 exhibitors at Vietnam Medipharm Expo 2023

The three-day expo, the largest of its kind, aims to promote trade links and develop the medical and pharmaceutical market in Vietnam.

The 21st Vietnam Medipharm Expo 2023, themed "International integration for community health", is expected to attract over 400 exhibitors on August 3-5 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center, Ho Chi Minh City.

The expo will feature over 450 booths showcasing the most advanced products and services from leading companies from 22 countries and territories, including Belarus, China, EU, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Qatar, Singapore, Thailand, the US, and others.

Pham Le Tuan, Head of the Department of Finance under the Ministry of Health, said that about 90% of the medical equipment available in local hospitals comes from abroad, accounting for more than 50% of the total import value. There is a huge demand for medical equipment, especially X-ray machines, operation, emergency, testing and hi-tech equipment for hospitals in major cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hue, Danang and Cantho.

The exhibition is expected to help develop Vietnam's healthcare industry, enable Vietnamese medical and pharmaceutical enterprises to exchange experience, introduce products and expand international cooperation, access high-tech equipment and apply the world's advanced medical achievements in the country.

Within the expo, conferences on "Vietnam Medical & Pharmacy Market and Polices" hosted by the Ministry of Health will provide foreign exhibitors and visitors with insights into the performance of Vietnam's healthcare market and regulations on importing and trading medical and pharmaceutical products in Vietnam.
