MB nurtures young talents and embraces digital innovation

In Vietnam, while many organisations embrace the synergy of youthful talent and advanced technology, only a few have committed wholeheartedly to specialised initiatives for nurturing this vital workforce segment. One outstanding exemplar that has garnered widespread student interest is the Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB).

Forging partnerships with academic titans

Over the past couple of years, MB has stood shoulder-to-shoulder with more than 100 events, both large and small, dedicated to nurturing the minds of students. The first half of 2023 alone witnessed MB’s sponsorship of 15 programmes across various university campuses in Vietnam.

Two recent events that garnered significant attention were the HUB Career Fair held at the prestigious Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City and the Job Fair - Bridging Talent 2023 at the Banking Academy, which collectively attracted an astounding participation of 12,000 students. These staggering numbers clearly highlight the fervent desire of the younger generation to engage in activities organised by reputable educational institutions and businesses.

The seamless continuity and unwavering regularity of these events underscore MB’s resolute commitment to its long-term vision of making a meaningful social contribution by supporting and fostering the growth of young talents. These initiatives form the very bedrock upon which promising individuals can build their careers, granting them the fortitude and the guidance they need to flourish.

MB has etched an indelible mark on the market with its remarkable foray into digital banking transformations. In 2022, the bank managed to bewilder the industry by attracting a staggering seven million new customers, propelling its total customer base to soar above the 20 million mark, a feat that accounts for approximately 20 per cent of Vietnam's entire population.

Digital transactions now encompass a resounding 95 per cent of MB Bank's operations, an achievement that stands tall among the leading financial institutions in Asia.

Furthermore, MB has amassed a treasure trove of prestigious accolades, including The Asset Triple A Awards 2023 for "Best Digital Branch Project" and "Best Mobile Banking Application," as well as the Vietnam Digital Awards 2022 for its remarkable digital transformation endeavours.

Unveiling digital banking's charms to Gen Z

In a world where Generation Z is poised to take centre stage, unprecedented opportunities have arisen to foster deeper connections between these young minds and the realm of banking, particularly the digital frontier. MB has orchestrated a captivating talk show series titled "MB let's talk talent," offering a platform for students to interact directly with the bank's seasoned experts and partake in scintillating discussions on hot-button topics.

This series has carved an indomitable niche by exploring diverse subjects such as the metamorphosis from a student to a proficient DevOps engineer, unlocking the secrets of business analysis at MB Bank, embarking on the transformative journey of wealth management as a Private Banker, unlocking the full potential of LinkedIn for career growth, and navigating the vast landscape of banking professions to find one's true calling.

In a bid to provide students with the most holistic perspectives on their future professions, MB has partnered with several renowned universities to orchestrate an array of workshops. These engaging sessions cover topics ranging from risk management, data analytics, and International Financial Reporting Standards to the intriguing realms of DevSecOps and Agile methodologies throughout the course of 2023.

Since 2021, MB Bank has embarked on a visionary journey, investing billions of Vietnamese VND into the creation of MB Digital Hubs nestled within the hallowed campuses of top universities and institutions. These innovative spaces have ignited a spark of enthusiasm among students, providing them with immersive opportunities to simulate banking activities and passionately pitch their groundbreaking ideas.

During a riveting talk show at the National Economics University (NEU), Ngo Huy Anh, a student at NEU, expressed his gratitude for being among the selected few, hand-picked from over 800 applicants, to grace the halls of the NEU - MB Digital Hub.

He shared his elation at attending the captivating talk show "Road to data analyst – unlocking the shortcut for economists," where he had the privilege of listening to and interacting directly with MB’s luminaries. The invaluable insights and meticulous guidance provided by these experts kindled a sense of self-assurance in him, cementing his career aspirations.

Huy Anh confided his aspirations of joining MB, having recently submitted his application for a coveted scheme.

MB’s allure extends beyond the borders of Vietnam, as it recently welcomed 160 students from the Republic University of Uruguay, one of Latin America's most distinguished training centres, for a study and research expedition.

These international youths savoured their first taste of Southeast Asia's banking ecosystem, deeply impressed by MB Bank's robust investments. Through this enlightening initiative, MB Bank gained insights, promising to shape novel approaches to service offerings and future recruitment events catered to global talent.

With a resolute commitment to nurturing young talent, MB anticipates unveiling an array of projects designed exclusively for aspiring individuals. These initiatives aim to provide students with early exposure to the business environment and offer them an opportunity to learn on the job.

Two standout programmes, MB Chasing and MB Young Talent, take centre stage. MB Chasing, a trailblazing initiative in Vietnam's retail banking sector, acts as the inaugural stepping stone on the "Pursue the banker road" journey, thoughtfully crafted by MB to guide students from their freshman years until they emerge as accomplished "MB Masters."

With exclusive financial benefits, scholarships, and recognition for achievements, this venture entices young candidates. Additionally, MB Young Talent seeks to identify exceptional individuals, enabling aspiring professionals without prior experience to join MB in various professions across six distinctive career groups.

By investing in meticulously designed and professionally executed programmes, MB Bank has established itself as one of Vietnam's most enticing and sought-after brands, commanding the attention of young talent and technological enthusiasts alike.
