National plans to focus on production upgrades

The Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Agency for Regional Industry and Trade (ARIT) has provided guidelines for localities on devising national plans for industry promotion in 2023, giving priority to production technology renovation.

The plans will promote support and investment in new technology application and new product creation in the fields of farm produce, forest product and seafood processing, high technology in industrial production, and circular production development.

Priority will be given to application of advanced machinery and equipment researched and produced by rural industrial establishments and certified by relevant authorities and organizations.

National plans to focus on production upgrades

The ARIT encourages plan developers to prepare quick assessment reports on cleaner production, referring to green growth-oriented technology projects.

The plans will prioritize projects helping rural industrial establishments repair and improve pollution treatment systems, build pilot models of cleaner production, improve corporate governance, and develop outstanding rural industrial products. Priority will be given to localities with projects supporting the development of regional and national-level outstanding rural industrial products. The plans will also provide support for detailed planning of industrial zones, and repairing and upgrading environmental pollution treatment systems in industrial parks.

An ARIT representative said 2023 industry promotion plans will give priority to quality human resource development, management improvement, and rural industrial development.

The Agency for Regional Industry and Trade has asked provincial and city departments of industry and trade to submit 2021-2025 local industry promotion plans to related provincial/city people’s committees for approval. The agency is directing localities to accomplish the planning in order to ensure on-time implementation of the annual plans.

The Agency for Regional Industry and Trade is trying its best to organize three big annual events, including an industry and trade sector meeting, an industry promotion conference, and an exhibition of outstanding rural industrial products of the northern, central and southern regions.
