Vietnamese Goods and Gastronomy Week underway in the UK

The event aims to promote among British consumers and retailers high-quality Vietnamese products that are benefiting from the UK-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (UKVFTA).

The 2022 Vietnamese Goods and Gastronomy Week in the UK is taking place until July 3, organized by the Vietnam Trade Office in the UK in collaboration with the Vietnam Business Association in the UK (VBUK) and Longdan and EUTEK Group, the two Vietnamese importers.

During this week, various items including handicraft products, coffee, fresh and dried fruit, canned fruit juice, vermicelli, dried noodle soup, rice paper rolls, cashew nuts, and fragrant rice are displayed at Longdan Crawley supermarket and Vietnamese market in Nottingham City.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK and Ireland Nguyen Hoang Long hoped that the 2022 Vietnamese Goods and Gastronomy Week in the UK would not only introduce Vietnamese products and cuisine to local consumers but also promote Vietnamese culture, country, and people.

He also wished that Vietnamese businesses in the UK like Longdan will bring more Vietnamese products to British consumers.

At the event, Sao Thai Duong JSC opened its first booth presenting products of Nature Queen, its natural cosmetics brand, at Longdan Crawley supermarket.

Nguyen Thi Huong Lien, Vice President of Sao Thai Duong JSC, said before bringing Nature Queen products to the UK, the company spent more than 10 years on researching standards and requirements of the UK market, which is listed among the world's most demanding ones.

Ambassador Nguyen Hoang Long said that Vietnamese companies should partner with each other to develop Vietnamese brands in the international markets, as well as be willing to share their experiences with those who wish to expand businesses in foreign countries.

Huynh Xuan Long, Chairman of Longdan Group, said that for Vietnamese products to be present and have a firm foothold in the UK market, it is necessary to have close coordination between domestic sectors, domestic and foreign companies producingand exporting Vietnamese products to the UK.
