Quang Nam Province honors outstanding products
The Industry and Trade Promotion Center of the central province of Quang Nam helps rural industrial manufacturers access domestic and foreign markets by helping them improve product quality and marketing.
One product recognized as a regional-level and national-level outstanding rural industrial product in 2020 and 2021 is the banh chung, square glutinous rice cake filled with green bean paste and fat pork, made by the Ba Ba Hoi firm. Huynh Thi Thu Thuy, a representative of the business (located in Tan Thanh Ward in Tam Ky City), said the cake is prepared with high quality, delicious materials, while the business contributes to preserving the region’s traditional craft and culture, and promoting the art of Vietnamese cuisine.

Recognizing and honoring outstanding rural industrial products encourages manufacturers to improve production and product quality. For Ba Ba Hoi, regional and national recognition has increased customer trust and expanded market share. Thuy said that in the long run, her business will seek to penetrate foreign markets, adding that ensuring food safety and hygiene and meeting other quality standards is crucial.
In 2021, the provincial industry and trade promotion center organized a provincial-level product contest, then applied for national recognition for the contest’s winners.
According to the center, despite COVID-19, the number of products that applied for recognition in 2021 increased considerably compared to 2020. The vast majority of provincial districts, towns and cities selected products according to approved plans.
This year, the center will continue to encourage rural industrial producers in the province, especially those with recognized products, to participate in supply-demand connection activities.
Quang Nam will attach importance to trade connection activities, creation of highly competitive products meeting domestic market and export demands, increase the proportion of processed and intensively processed industrial products, add value to and increase the high technology content of industrial and handicraft products, create favorable conditions for rural industrial producers to take advantage of digital economy development opportunities, improve productivity, quality, and competitiveness, and efficiently implement international economic integration.
