Manulife celebrates 23 years operating Vietnam

Today more than 1.5 million customers put their trust in Manulife Vietnam.

Manulife has marked 23 years of investing in Vietnam's economic prosperity and healthier, more resilient people, and the company's anniversary is also an opportunity to reaffirm its commitment to building a more sustainable future for all.

Overview of the ceremony.

As the first foreign-owned life insurer in the market and part of a leading Canadian-based financial services provider, Manulife Vietnam has been a pioneering force in the local industry’s development.

Manulife Vietnam’s customer and transformation focus has helped shape the country’s burgeoning life insurance market. The insurer has also taken an industry-leading role in wider societal needs such as closing the protection gap, responding to growing health demands, and meeting the evolving digital needs of consumers.

“Over the years, Manulife Vietnam has provided millions of customers across the country with financial advice and solutions so they can live every day better. While much has changed since we first entered the market in 1999, our commitment to helping customers remains at the heart of everything we do,” said Sang Lee, CEO, of Manulife Vietnam.

“This anniversary is more than just a milestone for Manulife Vietnam. It is a celebration of people from all walks of life who have put their trust in us to protect their loved ones, grow their wealth, improve their health and build a better tomorrow. I would also like to thank our advisers and bank partners for supporting us on this journey”.

The insurer’s leadership role continues with the recent launch of the Impact Agenda – Manulife’s global commitment to empowering health and wellbeing, driving inclusive opportunities, and accelerating a sustainable future.

Through the Impact Agenda, Manulife is focused on leading and making decisions about the future of its business in each of the markets where it operates, driving innovation, services, products, and community investments that address key societal and environmental issues.

“As a health and wealth company, staying true to our mission is how we create long-term value for our business, our communities, and the planet. It’s how we all win. Through our Impact Agenda, Manulife Vietnam is committed to driving change and making a difference on issues we can genuinely impact,” added Mr. Lee.

To celebrate its 23rd anniversary, Manulife Vietnam has launched a new campaign encouraging customers to go digital for their communications and get a tree planted on their behalf in Ben En National Park.

Up to 2,200 trees will be planted in conjunction with Gaia Nature Conservation to grow Manulife Vietnam’s network of “Customer Forests” and reduce the impact of climate change. The initiative is closely linked to the Impact Agenda, which includes a key priority to accelerate a sustainable future to preserve the planet we all share.

Manulife Vietnam was recently named ‘Life Insurer of the Year’ at the InsuranceAsia News Awards for Excellence 2021 and ‘Digital Health & Wellness Leader of the Year’ at the 21st Golden Dragon Awards.
