Ha Giang Province facilitates rural industrial production

The industry promotion sector of the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang has been facilitating rural industry modernization by assisting enterprises in the province to procure and apply advanced equipment and machinery.

This year, Ha Giang Province will implement 11 industry promotion projects and two related tasks at a total cost of VND4.178 billion, including application of advanced machinery and equipment in tea processing, fine art and handicraft production, and garment and other consumer goods manufacture.

In 2021, with funding from the local industry promotion program, the Industry and Trade Promotion Center of Ha Giang Province helped the Tuan Bang trading and transport cooperative in the province’s Xin Man District procure three gas-based tea dryers, allowing the cooperative to dry 50 tonnes of green tea per year.

The Coc Re trading and agro-forestry service cooperative in Xin Man District also received industry promotion funding as well as labeling and packaging design assistance for bee honey production. The support has helped the cooperative considerably improve its production capacity and product quality.

Industrial and handicraft production modernization is a long-term priority of the northern mountainous province in the 2021-2025 period.

The province will develop three demonstration models to promote application of advanced technology in its key industrial and handicraft production industries, including production of OCOP (one commune one product) products, manufacture of industrial consumer goods, mechanical products serving agriculture and rural development, building materials, farm and forest products, seafood and clean food, and assistance for 70 rural industrial establishments to apply advanced machinery and equipment.

The provincial industry promotion sector will promote and expand markets for rural industrial products while providing advice to industry promotion projects on choosing the right production technology.

The provincial department of industry and trade and the Industry and Trade Promotion Center will coordinate with relevant units to implement and inspect industry promotion activities in the region, give advice on industry promotion regulation amendment and improvement, build cost estimates for industry promotion projects and maximize the projects’ efficiency.

The Industry and Trade Promotion Center of Ha Giang Province is working hard to realize the 2022 local industry promotion plan, helping rural industrial producers improve productivity and product quality and better meet growing market demand.
