GO! Mall Lao Cai officially launched

Central Retail Vietnam officially launched its GO! Mall in Lao Cai province on May 27, marking the 39th of such malls in the country.

Located on Tran Hung Dao street in Lao Cai city, the GO! Mall is its first shopping centre in the northwest area and simultaneously the 39th shopping centre of Central Retail in Vietnam.

Covering an area of 30,000 square metres with an investment capital of over $13 million, the mall provides a one-stop-shop experience to customers in the area as well as the neighbouring provinces.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Olivier Langlet, general director of Central Retail Vietnam said, “The GO! Mall offers shopping, dining, and entertainment in one destination. Our concept is an eat-shop-play-learn-sustain model, built to accommodate all customers’ diversified needs, with a focus on families.”

Langlet added, “With the vision of contributing to Vietnam’s prosperity and enhancing the quality of life of the people, Central Retail has constantly made efforts in realising this by growing a resilient portfolio across various segments and strengthening partnerships while satisfying the diversified needs of our consumers."

The mall is expected to promote the province’s socioeconomic development by generating nearly 400 jobs for locals. Besides this, the mall will contribute to boosting the province’s trading and service activities as around 30 per cent of stalls in the mall are coming from local traders. Thereby, the mall is also fostering agricultural products from the households and cooperatives in the area.

At the event, Trinh Xuan Truong, Chairman of Lao Cai People's Committee said, "GO! Lao Cai is considered one of the key foreign-invested shopping malls of the province and will be a good commodity distribution channel."

On this occasion, the Thailand-based Central Retail donated VND1 billion ($43,500) to a new school site for La Pan Tan Primary School in the province. Last January, the group sponsored VND300 million ($13,000) to build two classrooms in Sin Chai School in Sapa town.
