Ho Chi Minh City signs agreement with EuroCham to boost tourism

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism signed an agreement with the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham) on March 7 with the aim to promote tourism during the 2022-2024 period.

The event came at a time when Vietnam, and the city in particular, is preparing to reopen to international travel in the new normal period starting from March 15.

The agreement is expected to boost MICE tourism and food tourism, enhance market research and human resources training in tourism, and share experience on tourism management.

The cooperation with EuroCham will help Ho Chi Minh City promote its image through direct channels to European companies and citizens in Vietnam and other countries.

The city’s Tourism Department also signed an agreement with the Vietnam Airport Ground Services Company (VIAGS) as part of the efforts to restore tourism, especially by air, following the pandemic.

Director of the Tourism Department Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa said she believes the cooperation with EuroCham and VIAGS will lay the groundwork for the city’s tourism to make a strong recovery after it reopens to international travellers in mid-March.

She added that the current core tasks are to restore the tourism workforce and enhance the quality of tourism products and services.
