Shares bounce back, bolstered by bank stocks

Shares bounced back on Tuesday morning, bolstered by banking stocks.

 

On the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange, the VN-Index rose by 0.18 per cent, to 1,506.35 points.

Market breadth was negative with 284 losers and 155 gainers.

Some 668 million shares were traded on the HoSE, worth more than VND18.3 trillion.

The index gain was mainly driven by large-cap stocks, especially in the banking sector. Of which, the 30 biggest stocks tracker, the VN30-Index, gained 0.04 per cent, to 1,515.24 points. Twelve stocks in the VN30 basket edged up, while 13 declined, and the rest remained flat.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange (HNX), the HNX-Index climbed 0.08 per cent, to 483.26 points.
