Shares rise during morning trade
The stock market rose on Monday morning, backed by strong gains in a number of large-cap stocks.
On the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE), the market benchmark VN-Index increased 0.04 per cent, to 1,477.59 points.
The market's breadth was negative, with 155 gainers and 284 losers.
Some 437 million shares were traded on the southern exchange in the morning session, worth VNĐ13 trillion.
The uptrend was mainly driven by a number of large-cap stocks, as the 30 biggest stocks tracker, VN30-Index gained 0.09 per cent, to 1,508.00 points. Of the VN30 basket, 15 stocks increased, while 13 stocks declined and two stock ended flat.
On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange (HNX), the HNX-Index rose 0.1 per cent, to 446.06 points.
